NLB Corporation is a leading manufacturer of high-pressure water jetting systems, used in industrial applications for cutting, cleaning, and hydrodemolition.
Founded in Michigan, USA, in 1971, NLB has pioneered the water jetting industry and built a strong reputation for technical innovation and rugged reliability.

As part of their global growth strategy, NLB set their sights on Europe. But their existing US-built products, despite being technically advanced, didn’t meet the region’s strict regulations or customer preferences – from sound attenuation standards and axle sizes to aesthetics and operational expectations. Simply releasing a US product in Europe wasn’t an option.
The pumps and water jetting technologies are NLB’s core products that they’d spent decades developing, refining, improving. But, the way the products were packaged needed to be adapted to suit the European market.

NLB partnered with Amcanu to design and manufacture a new, fully compliant enclosure system tailored to European customer needs. Working as an extension of NLB’s engineering team, Amcanu helped shape the new ‘175 Series’ – a high-performance, diesel-powered water jetting system, built from the ground up to meet European regulations and exceed customer expectations. Through a process of iterative design, prototyping, testing… the product took shape.
Particular attention was paid to sound attenuation, airflow optimisation, weather protection, security, compliance, style… and in general, quality. From the very original brief, it was clear that NLB’s customers needed to feel that NLB’s products were of the highest quality.
Amcanu’s commitment to continual development really aligns with NLB’s core values. They have brought a huge amount of experience to our project – enabling us to hit the ground running on a project for an entirely new market. We’ve been impressed with Amcanu’s processes and investment in the latest innovative technology. We value our partnership with Amcanu and it has helped our team learn so much from them. The team are brilliant, and their ethos is great!

Early designs were immediately released into NLB’s rental fleet for real-world user testing and customer feedback. The harsh and demanding nature of the rental market made for an ideal test-bed for developing the most robust product that would stand up to the rigours of industry.

The final released version of the ‘175 Series’ is undoubtedly a high-quality product and is receiving the positive customer feedback it deserves.
NLB is now attracting customers in the UK and European markets – with customers liking the fact that a traditionally American company has taken the time to really embrace the local market and address their specific requirements.
Working with NLB on this project was a fantastic challenge. We pushed the limits of what was possible – designing an enclosure that could house a large Stage 5 engine and pump combination, meet strict noise and weight requirements, and still be road legal. It took clever thinking, close collaboration, and a willingness from both teams to explore new ideas. I’m really proud of what we achieved together.
